The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), in partnership with City National Bank, has announced the first round of performers for the 7th annual Nashville Songwriter Awards. The event will take place on September 24, 2024, at the Ryman Auditorium.
The initial lineup includes Mackenzie Carpenter, Ashley Cooke, Jamey Johnson, Amanda Shires, Nate Smith, Josh Turner, and Lee Ann Womack. A notable list of songwriters such as Kurt Allison, Ryan Beaver, Jared Keim, Tully Kennedy, Kelley Lovelace, Randy Montana, Patrick Murphy, Austin Nivarel, Joe Ragosta, Rob Ragosta, Neil Thrasher, and Dave Turnbull will also be in attendance.

Tickets for the event will go on sale at 10:00 am Central on Friday, July 26, 2024, and can be purchased at Ryman.com.
The evening will honor Alan Jackson with the Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award and Buddy Cannon with the NSAI President’s Keystone Award. Additionally, a new ‘Legendary Song’ award will be presented. This award, chosen by NSAI’s professional songwriting members, will celebrate a song from the period 1967-1983. The winning song will be revealed and performed during the event.
The awards ceremony is supported by several partners including Loeb & Loeb LLP, Renaissance Nashville Hotel, the Recording Industry Association of America, the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp, Musicnotes, Recording Academy Songwriters & Composers Wing, SoundExchange, Tennessee Association of Broadcasters, and The Mechanical Licensing Collective.
Awards to be presented include ‘Songwriter of the Year,’ ‘Songwriter-Artist of the Year,’ ‘Song of the Year,’ ’10 Songs I Wish I’d Written,’ the ‘Legendary Song’ award, the Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award, and the NSAI President’s Keystone Award.
