Teen Arrested After Investigation into Vehicle Thefts

A 19-year-old was arrested following an investigation into multiple vehicle thefts in Nashville.

A 19-year-old is in custody following a months-long investigation by East Precinct detectives into an organized, countywide vehicle theft group involving multiple teenagers. Christopher Eddie, of Madison, was identified late last year as one of the teens allegedly responsible for several car thefts involving Hyundais and Kias in East Nashville.

Eddie was seen this past December and January on MDHA cameras in the Cayce Homes neighborhood either driving stolen vehicles or assisting in stealing others.

Last night, during the MNPD’s special initiative to combat car theft and related crimes, detectives saw Eddie exiting a 2023 Toyota 4Runner that had been reported stolen from Litton Avenue an hour prior. Eddie ran from officers but was quickly apprehended.

Eddie was booked in on 11 outstanding warrants, including six vehicle thefts, joyriding, and vandalism. He was additionally charged with vehicle theft, vandalism, and evading arrest.

He is currently jailed on $175,000 bond.

*His booking photo is being withheld at present due to pending photo lineups.
