Isaiah Burr, a 22-year-old suspect wanted in connection with a 2022 homicide, was returned to Nashville yesterday. Burr was apprehended in Kentucky shortly after the March 19, 2022, shooting of 20-year-old Chanya Sherill on Dickerson Pike. Sherill’s vehicle, a 2014 Chevrolet Cruz, had crashed into a Bank of America, and she was found lying on the ground outside the driver’s seat.
The investigation revealed that Sherill had met Burr through a dating app, where he allegedly contacted women as part of a robbery scheme. At the time of his arrest at his mother’s home in Hopkinsville, Burr had outstanding warrants in Indiana and Kentucky. Following Sherill’s death on April 2, 2022, Burr’s warrant was upgraded to criminal homicide. He is currently jailed without bond.
