Repaving of Parkside Drive to Start Sunday Evening

Repaving work on Parkside Drive will begin on June 23, 2024, and last approximately three weeks.

Motorists in West Knoxville are advised that repaving work on Parkside Drive will commence on the evening of Sunday, June 23, 2024. The project, managed by Rogers Group, involves resurfacing a 1.3-mile stretch of the road between Lovell Road and the Knoxville city limits. The work is projected to take about three weeks to complete.

Crews will be on-site each evening starting at 6 p.m. and will continue their work overnight until 6 a.m. This schedule is designed to minimize traffic disruptions.

Initially, one crew will remove the surface layer of asphalt. Following this, a separate crew will lay down new asphalt. Although the road will remain open during the milling and repaving process, motorists should expect lane closures and traffic being directed around work zones.

The current city budget includes $8.6 million for repaving 32 miles of local streets, with the miles of repaved roads being evenly distributed throughout the city.
