A Nashville man, William Demarcus Tribue, 43, was taken into custody by MNPD Warrants officers in Rutherford County due to a fatal crash that occurred in June 2021. The crash, which took place on Trinity Lane, resulted in the death of Zavier Dunlap.
Evidence gathered showed that Tribue was driving a Dodge Charger westbound at a high rate of speed when the vehicle ran off the roadway and overturned. Despite Tribue’s initial denial of being the driver, the investigation led by MNPD Crash Investigator Christopher Valdez confirmed that he was behind the wheel at the time of the accident.
Dunlap succumbed to his injuries on the scene, while Tribue was transported to the hospital with critical injuries. A backseat passenger of the Charger was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Tribue has been charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication and vehicular assault. He is currently held on a bond of $101,000.
