Detectives Investigate Monday’s Brawner Avenue Shooting

Detectives are following leads in the Brawner Avenue shooting that critically injured two individuals.

Homicide Unit detectives are actively investigating a targeted shooting that occurred on Brawner Avenue at 7 p.m. on Monday. The incident left Dondrinkus Dickerson, 31, critically injured. According to initial findings, an altercation between Dickerson and the suspect preceded the gunfire.

Dickerson sustained a head injury and was transported to Skyline Medical Center, where he is in life-threatening condition. During the investigation, a handgun reported stolen during an aggravated robbery on 12th Avenue North in April 2023 was found underneath Dickerson.

Additionally, a 28-year-old innocent bystander was struck. He received treatment at Skyline Medical Center and was subsequently released.

Man Arrested After High-Speed Chase

Cornelius Pierce, 49, was apprehended after a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle, which he had taken during a robbery. Pierce attempted to evade law enforcement but was stopped by spike strips and sustained injuries while trying to carjack another vehicle. He faces multiple charges, including robbery and vehicle theft, and was already wanted for other offenses.
