City Offices Closing for Independence Day

Most city offices and services in Murfreesboro will be closed on July 4th, 2024.

In observance of Independence Day, City Hall and most city offices in Murfreesboro will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024. The St. Clair Street Senior Center will also be closed on this day. The city’s public transportation system, Murfreesboro Transit, will not operate on Independence Day.

Most recreational facilities will be closed on July 4, 2024. However, Boro Beach, Sports*Com’s outdoor pool, will remain open. The Adams Tennis Complex will be closed. The Solid Waste Department will also be closed on July 4th. Garbage collection scheduled for Thursday will be moved to Wednesday.

The City of Murfreesboro will host its annual “Celebration Under the Stars,” powered by Middle Tennessee Electric, at the Fountains at Gateway, 1500 Medical Center Parkway, on Thursday, July 4. The event will begin at 4:30 p.m. with music by a DJ and picnicking on the lawn. A live concert by Craig Campbell will start at 7:30 p.m., followed by fireworks by Pyro Shows at approximately 9 p.m. The community is encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for the event.
