Assistance Needed in Identifying Driver in Fatal Hit-and-Run

Nashville police seek public help to identify a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run.

Update: The pedestrian fatally injured in Saturday’s hit-and-run crash has been identified as Rene Choc-Caal, 47, of Nashville.

Fatal crash investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver of a white minivan that struck and killed a 47-year-old male pedestrian at the intersection of E. Thompson Lane and Lawndale Drive. The incident occurred on Saturday at 9 p.m. Efforts are ongoing to notify the victim’s next of kin.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian was struck by the minivan, which was traveling north on E. Thompson Lane, as he attempted to cross the roadway at the intersection.

Man Critically Injured in Nolensville Pike Shooting

A 19-year-old man named Darwin Henriquez-Perdomo is in critical condition following a shooting in a parking lot on Nolensville Pike early Sunday morning. He was transported to Southern Hills Medical Center and then to Skyline Medical Center. The shooting occurred while a large group of vehicles was driving erratically, and the motive is still under investigation. Authorities are seeking information from the public through Crime Stoppers.
