Arrest Made in Hendersonville Rape Case

Hendersonville police arrest Frank Cabrera for rape following detailed investigation.

Outstanding work by Special Victims Detective Jonathan Sharp led to the arrest of rape suspect Frank Cabrera, 41, of Hendersonville. Cabrera was identified through investigative efforts and a private license plate reader as the alleged perpetrator of the May 26 aggravated rape, burglary, and theft of a woman he met at a bar on Elysian Fields Road.

The female victim reported that Cabrera followed her to her apartment complex and entered her apartment without permission. Inside, he proceeded to grope and sexually assault her, only stopping when the victim choked him with a charging cable. After being forced out of the apartment, Cabrera re-entered by force, stole the victim’s purse containing her car keys, and subsequently stole her vehicle.

The stolen vehicle was later recovered at a gas station where Cabrera was captured on surveillance footage fleeing to a nearby store. The arrest was made possible through a coordinated effort between the Hendersonville Police Department and Violent Crimes Detectives, leading to Cabrera’s detention at his home on Gatone Drive.

Cabrera has been booked on multiple outstanding warrants including aggravated rape, sexual battery, aggravated burglary, vehicle theft, and theft. He is currently held on a $137,000 bond.
