YMCA of Chattanooga Announces New CFO and CMO

The YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga has appointed Jordan Pierce as CFO and Marissa Bell as CMO.

The YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga has announced the addition of Jordan Pierce as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Marissa Bell as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). These new appointments are expected to play crucial roles in advancing the organization’s mission and vision, ensuring it remains a vital community service and support entity.

“Jordan and Marissa are great additions to our leadership team who will help achieve our vision to serve 25,000 more people by 2028,” said Baron Herdelin-Doherty, President and CEO of the YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga. “Their extensive experience and dedication to our community align perfectly with our mission of promoting youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We look forward to their contributions as we continue to serve our region.”

Jordan Pierce comes to the YMCA with a strong background in financial management and strategic planning. He previously worked for nearly seven years at the Electric Power Board (EPB), holding positions such as Manager of Financial Reporting and Rates, Assistant Controller, and Corporate Accountant. During his tenure, he was instrumental in overseeing budget processes and financial reporting for a $1 billion balance sheet and developing innovative rate and pricing mechanisms for both electric and fiber optic customers. Pierce is also a certified public accountant and holds an MBA from Mississippi State University.

Marissa Bell brings over 13 years of experience in communications to her role as CMO. Her extensive background includes public relations, marketing, digital media, broadcasting, and crisis communications. Previously, she led a team at Waterhouse PR and held marketing and communication roles at the Chattanooga Tourism Co. and the Chattanooga Mayor’s Office. Bell is also deeply involved in community organizations, including Girls on the Run of Southeast Tennessee and the Chattanooga Chamber. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Tennessee and a master’s in corporate and organizational communication from Northeastern University.
