Wave Country and Spraygrounds Open Memorial Day

Wave Country and neighborhood spraygrounds open for summer activities starting Memorial Day Weekend.

The Memorial Day Weekend opening of Metro Parks’ iconic Wave Country and neighborhood spraygrounds signals the beginning of warm weather fun for thousands of water-lovers in the city. The department’s popular outdoor pools will open at 10 a.m., Monday, June 3.

Wave Country is one of the city’s only wave-action swimming pools and offers a variety of amenities for people of all ages. Guests can ride the waves or just enjoy “non-wave” periods as well. There are three water flumes and two speed slides. There’s even a kiddie pool with water dropping features and a children’s playground. Floats are included in admission, but the supply of floats is limited. Extensive fast-food concessions are available as well.
