Wave Country and Spraygrounds Open Memorial Day

Wave Country and neighborhood spraygrounds open for summer activities starting Memorial Day Weekend.

The Memorial Day Weekend opening of Metro Parks’ iconic Wave Country and neighborhood spraygrounds signals the beginning of warm weather fun for thousands of water-lovers in the city. The department’s popular outdoor pools will open at 10 a.m., Monday, June 3.

Wave Country is one of the city’s only wave-action swimming pools and offers a variety of amenities for people of all ages. Guests can ride the waves or just enjoy “non-wave” periods as well. There are three water flumes and two speed slides. There’s even a kiddie pool with water dropping features and a children’s playground. Floats are included in admission, but the supply of floats is limited. Extensive fast-food concessions are available as well.

– Mondays: Closed

– Tuesday – Friday: 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

– Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Holiday Hours:

– Memorial Day: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

– July 4: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Admission Prices:

– Adult (13 years and older) – $12.00

– Child (3 years to 12 years) – $10.00*

– Child (2 years and under) – Free

– Seniors (62 years or older) – $8

– Military (with Military ID) – $8

– Spectator – Everyone entering Wave Country is required to pay the designated admission fees listed above.

*Rates are half price for children Monday through Thursday from the hours of 3 to 5 p.m. Children 12-years-old and under must be accompanied by an 18-year-old adult to come in Wave Country.

Outdoor Pools open Monday, June 3:

Metro Parks operates three outdoor pools that are free of charge during open swim times. Outdoor pools are located at Z. Alexander Looby, Easley, and Cleveland Community Centers. All outdoor pools operate from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday – Friday, Saturdays 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Each outdoor pool is closed one day a week for maintenance. Looby and Cleveland will close on Tuesdays while Easley will close on Mondays.

Spraygrounds open Saturday, May 25:

Spraygrounds are located at Watkins and Kirkpatrick Community Centers from 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., on weekends. Watkins is located at 616 17th Avenue North, Nashville, TN. Kirkpatrick is located at 998 Sevier Street, Nashville, TN.

Indoor Pools open year-round:

Indoor pools are open year-round and are free to the public during open swim times. Check the schedule of individual centers to determine open swim time availability. Indoor pools are located at Coleman, East, Hadley, Hartman, Smith Springs, and Napier Community Centers. Napier, however, is open from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturdays. Indoor pools at regional centers are open during operational hours.

Centennial Sportsplex Pool:

The Centennial Sportsplex has two pools available for open swim times. The Lap Pool is available from 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday – Thursday and on Fridays from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. The Recreational Pool is available from 7:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Monday – Friday. In addition to Open Swims, the facility offers Water Aerobics, Learn to Swim, Red Cross Classes and more. Daily Rates for open swim are:

– Adults (18-61) – $9.00

– Children (5-17) – $8.00

– Seniors (62 and over) – $8.00

– College Students with current ID – $8.00

– Disabled Patrons – $8.00

– Military – $8.00

– Children (four and under) – free with paid adult

Boro Beach Summer Opening and Events

Boro Beach, located at Sports*Com in Murfreesboro, will open for the summer season on Saturday, May 25, with a Memorial Day Bash on Monday, May 27. Admission fees are $7 for adults and $5 for youth, seniors, and military personnel, with season passes available and discounts for residents and facility pass holders.
