Traffic Impacts on State Route 60 in Bradley County

Upcoming road construction on SR 60 in Bradley County will affect traffic in June 2024.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Drivers traveling on State Route 60 (SR 60) in Bradley County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will impact traffic. Freewill Road will be closed for the month of June, from the intersection of SR 60 to just west of Hopewell Elementary School, to complete necessary road work.

Beginning Monday, June 3, 2024, and continuing through Monday, July 1, 2024, crews will close Freewill Road. A signed detour will be in place to direct drivers around the closure.

Detour Routes:

– Eureka Road/SR-306 westbound will be detoured onto SR-60 southbound, then onto NW Georgetown Drive, and back to Freewill Road.

– SR-60 southbound (right turn) will be detoured to stay on SR-60 southbound and to NW Georgetown Drive, then back to Freewill Road.

– Freewill Road eastbound will be detoured onto NW Georgetown Drive eastbound, then to SR-60 northbound.

Drivers are encouraged to use extreme caution while traveling through this area. Traffic control measures will be in place. This work is weather permitting, and in case of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, the work will be rescheduled.
