On May 11, 2023, Governor Lee signed into law the Tennessee Works Tax Act (TWTA), Public Chapter 377 (2023). The TWTA introduces several changes to Tennessee sales and use tax regulations. One significant amendment is the adoption of sourcing provisions that align with the Streamlined Sales and Use Tax Agreement. This clarification helps sellers determine which state’s tax is due on sales made into or out of Tennessee. These changes will become effective on July 1, 2024.
