Tennessee Board of Regents Committees to Meet May 29

The Tennessee Board of Regents will discuss tuition, fees, and new proposals on May 29.

The Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) committee chairs will convene on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, to review informational reports, a new program proposal, and the agenda for the full board’s next quarterly meeting on June 13. The Personnel and Compensation Committee, Finance and Business Operations Committee, and Audit Committee will also meet to consider items for the June 13 meeting, including recommendations on tuition and fees for the 2024-25 academic year.

The TBR governs Tennessee’s public community colleges and colleges of applied technology. Meetings will begin at 8:30 a.m. CT/9:30 a.m. ET and will be conducted via teleconferencing. They will be live-streamed and archived on the TBR website at https://www.tbr.edu/board/may-29-2024-committee-chairs-personnel-compensation-finance-business-operations-and-audit.

The committee chairs meeting will be informational, discussing updates on workforce development, federal Title IX rule changes, legislation affecting the system, and a proposed associate of applied science program in nuclear technology at Roane State Community College. No votes or official actions will be taken during this meeting.

Following the committee chairs meeting, the three committees will review their respective recommendations for the full board’s June 13 meeting:

– **Finance and Business Operations Committee:** Will consider tuition and fee recommendations for 2024-25 and capital budget requests for fiscal year 2025-26.

– **Personnel and Compensation Committee:** Will review proposed revisions to TBR policies on administrative closing days, parental leave, employee discipline, and leave transfer. They will also consider president emeriti contracts, faculty emeriti designations, compensation strategies, institutional amendments or new compensation plans, and executive incentive payments.

– **Audit Committee:** Will receive informational reports on audit matters and review revisions to internal audit plans, charters, and the systemwide internal audit budget for fiscal year 2025.

The next quarterly meeting of the Board of Regents is scheduled for June 13, 2024, at Jackson State Community College. On June 14, the board will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Stanton.
