Tennessee Announces Finalists for Presidential Teaching Award

Four Tennessee educators are finalists for the prestigious Presidential Awards for Excellence in STEM Teaching.

The Tennessee Department of Education has announced four state finalists for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching (PAEMST). This prestigious award is the highest honor in the United States for K–12 teachers specializing in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and computer science.

The PAEMST award recognizes educators for their contributions to teaching and learning, as well as their capability to help students excel in STEM subjects. The program aims to highlight the highest standards of STEM teaching across the country.

“These finalists embody the most incredible STEM teachers across the state and the nation,” said Lizzette Reynolds, Commissioner of Education. “I commend these educators for their valuable commitment to providing exceptional math and science learning and teaching to prepare students for future success.”
