A City services roundup off North Central Street will require vehicles parked on designated roads in the Downtown North area to be moved on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
Crews will be refreshing street markings, replacing signs as needed, sweeping the streets, picking up trash and brush, and weeding the public rights-of-way.
This work will be completed on sections of Irwin Street, Bearden Place, Pruett Place, Wray Street and Bernard and Dameron avenues.
All vehicles in the impacted area must be moved by 6 a.m., June 1. Vehicles that are not moved before that time will be towed. Streets are expected to reopen by 6 p.m.
“We want to thank residents and business owners, in advance, for their patience as we work on this project,” City Parking Manager Mark Elliott said. “This is similar to the roundup we do in Fort Sanders every year. We will be posting no-parking signs in the days prior to the closure and will be posting reminders on the City’s social media channels.”
Traffic flow generally will not be affected, although some temporary short-term closures may occur as needed due to safety protocols.
If there is inclement weather, a rain date has been set for June 2. Stay tuned to the City’s social media channels for any updates.
