Murfreesboro City Offices Closed for Memorial Day

City offices and services in Murfreesboro will be closed on May 27 for Memorial Day.

In observance of Memorial Day, City Hall and most other City offices in Murfreesboro will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2024. Several recreational facilities will also be closed. Murfreesboro Transit, the city’s public transportation system, will not operate on Memorial Day. The St. Clair Street Senior Center will be closed, and there will be no garbage pick-up on that day. The Solid Waste Department will also be closed, and garbage collection will be rescheduled for the following days: Monday’s collection will occur on Tuesday, May 28, and Tuesday’s collection will be on Wednesday, May 29.

The Old Fort Golf Course is currently closed for greens renovations, but its clubhouse remains open. The 6-hole Bloomfield Links course is available for use, with the Old Fort Golf Club expected to reopen in September. Stones River National Battlefield and Cemetery will host several events to commemorate Memorial Day. On Saturday, May 25, at 10 a.m., scouting and other youth groups are invited to place flags on over 7,000 headstones in Stones River National Cemetery. Volunteers should register [here](https://forms.office.com/g/gwdSr7NWfY) and plan to arrive by 9:30 a.m. Parking will be available near the park visitor center. On Sunday, May 26, a Memorial Day ceremony will take place at 1:30 p.m. at the national cemetery rostrum, with parking near the visitor center.
