Help Sought to Identify Assault Suspect in Nashville

Authorities seek public assistance to identify a sexual assault suspect.

Authorities are requesting the public’s help to identify a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman on Saturday at 2:15 p.m. near the Vanderbilt Medical Center’s East parking garage, located at 1215 21st Avenue South. The victim, an employee of VUMC, reported that she noticed the suspect pacing in the area. As she attempted to leave, the man attacked her from behind, began choking her, and threatened her life. During the struggle, he forcibly fondled her, although she eventually managed to escape.

The suspect is described as a white male with brown hair, a beard, and a mustache, last seen wearing a white short-sleeved shirt with an orange number 5 on the front and dark pants. Surveillance photos of the suspect have been released in the hope that someone will recognize him.
