Additional Retirement Planning Session Announced

An extra session on retirement planning for City employees has been scheduled.

Due to the high demand for the “Planning for Your Retirement” sessions, the City of Murfreesboro has announced an additional session aimed at helping city employees prepare for retirement. This event is designed for employees at any stage of their career, whether retirement is just around the corner or years away. The session is organized by the City of Murfreesboro Human Resources Department, with key speakers including Fredia Coldwell, Karen Heyduck, and Beverly Alexander from Human Resources, Ed Stewart from Voya, and Trey Sizemore from Mission Square.

The presentation will cover a range of important topics, including an understanding of your defined pension plan and the options available, how to plan a retirement information meeting with HR, healthcare considerations for you and your dependents in retirement, how to continue your voluntary benefits, an explanation of vesting, managing your benefits as they run out, and an overview of the retirement plans offered by Voya and Mission Square.

This additional session will be held in the City Hall Council Chambers on Friday, May 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., located at 111 W. Vine St. Those interested in attending are encouraged to sign up quickly as seats are limited. Registration can be done through the Learning Management System (LMS) by visiting the LMS Events Calendar and selecting the preferred date. This is a unique opportunity for city employees to gain valuable insights into retirement planning and take an important step toward a secure future. The organizers look forward to welcoming attendees to the session.
