The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced various temporary lane closures throughout West Tennessee from April 10-17, 2024. These closures will occur in multiple counties, including Benton, Dyer, Gibson, Carroll, Obion, Crockett, Haywood, Madison, Fayette, Lauderdale, Shelby, and Tipton.
The lane closures will allow for repairs, resurfacing, safety improvements, and new installations on several state routes and interstates. Some notable projects include:
– Bridge repairs on I-40 in Benton County
– Resurfacing on SR-20, SR-104, and SR-181 in Dyer County
– Grading, drainage, and paving on US-79 (SR-76) in Gibson and Carroll Counties
– Resurfacing and safety improvements on SR-196 in Fayette County and US-51 (SR-3) in Lauderdale County
– Widening on SR-14 (Austin Peay Highway) in Shelby County
– Bridge repair on SR-177 over the Wolf River in Shelby County
Most lane closures will occur during daytime hours, with some nighttime work scheduled in certain areas. At least one lane will remain open in each direction during the closures. Motorists are advised to plan ahead, check travel conditions before departing, and follow all traffic safety rules while in work zones.
