The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is requesting the public’s help in investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on I-24 East around mile marker 138 on Monteagle Mountain in Marion County. The incident happened on Saturday, March 30th, possibly between 3:45 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. The victim, a female pedestrian, was struck by a vehicle that continued eastbound without notifying law enforcement. Troopers discovered the deceased female on April 1, 2024.
THP investigators are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information about the driver or vehicle to contact them. Those with information can reach out to the THP Emergency Dispatch Center at (423) 954-2130, select option 0, and request to speak with Sergeant Matt Minter.
