Teen Charged with Homicide in Fatal Shooting at Rental Property

A 15-year-old boy was charged with criminal homicide for a fatal shooting in Nashville.

Darrin Fleming, 15, has been charged with criminal homicide for the fatal shooting of Barrington Moore, 31, on Thursday night. The shooting occurred inside a short-term rental property at 910 Youngs Lane in Nashville.

According to the investigation, Fleming was attending a birthday party for another teen at the rental property. Fleming’s mother had called him and told him to be home by 8 p.m. to comply with the terms of his juvenile court probation. Moore, who was Fleming’s cousin, arrived shortly after 9 p.m. to locate Fleming and take him home. Moore found Fleming hiding in a closet, and the two began to fight. During the altercation, Fleming admitted to firing a pistol, wounding Moore.

Moore was transported by ambulance to Skyline Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. Following the incident, Fleming was taken into custody and booked at the juvenile detention center. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
