Man Killed, Another Wounded in Murfreesboro Pike Shooting

Police are investigating a fatal shooting at a Murfreesboro Pike apartment complex on Friday night.

Homicide and Specialized Investigations Division detectives are working active leads in Friday night’s fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another in the parking lot of Cascade Apartments, 3300 Murfreesboro Pike.

The deceased is identified as Vidal York, 23, of Smyrna. Wounded, non-critically, was a 19-year-old man who arrived at the apartment complex with York.

South Precinct officers responded to the shooting call at 9:33 p.m. York was found lying in the parking lot. He was rushed to a hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced deceased. The 19-year-old was transported to a hospital by private vehicle. He was treated and released.

The shooter is believed to have fled the apartment complex by vehicle shortly after the gunfire. The motive has not yet been determined.

Nashville Motorcyclist Dies in Parkway Crash

Jonathan Golden, 41, of Nashville, was killed in a motorcycle crash on Natchez Trace Parkway near Highway 100 on Sunday afternoon after failing to negotiate a curve on the exit ramp while traveling at high speed.
