Nashville, Tennessee, is gearing up for a Father’s Day weekend filled with elegance and nostalgia at the Cheekwood Estate & Gardens. The estate will host the Exposition of Elegance: Classic Cars at Cheekwood, a spectacular showcase featuring over 100 classic cars and vintage motorcycles from the early to mid-20th century. This two-day event, which takes place on June 15 and 16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., will culminate in an 11-mile Tour d’Elegance through the city streets of Belle Meade, starting at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Attendees can expect to see an array of convertibles, roadsters, and elegant automobiles from a bygone era, including notable models like the 1912 Overland 59T, 1931 Studebaker President, and 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan Convertible. For the second consecutive year, pre- and post-war motorcycles from iconic manufacturers, such as a 1909 Pierce Four and a 1933 Harley-Davidson VC with sidecar, will be on display in Massey Auditorium inside Botanic Hall. Additionally, several European Micro Cars from the Lane Motor Museum will be featured in the Frist Learning Center.
“The beautiful historic grounds of Cheekwood are the perfect backdrop to showcase such an exquisite selection of classic cars that pay tribute to the era in which the Cheek family resided at this magnificent estate,” said Cheekwood Board Trustee Barry Stowe.
New to this year’s event is the sale of commemorative artwork by native Nashvillian artist Mattie Ree Neal, capturing the spirit of the event and era. These limited edition prints and posters will be available for purchase starting June 3 for members and on the day of the event for all attendees.
The weekend will also feature special musical performances, hands-on activities for children, food offerings from local trucks, and signature cocktails. The music schedule includes performances by Vintage Vinyl Queens DJ’s, The High Gravity Barbershop Quartet, The Lakes Brass Quintet, and Kevin Williams & The Model T Jazz Revival.
The Lambert Cup, an award celebrating passion for classic cars, will be presented to Jim Stadler, with Barry Stowe announcing the honor. This award commemorates Mark Lambert, a known automobile historian and enthusiast.
Tickets for this special event are on sale, ranging from $10 to $15 for members and $15 to $28 for non-members. They can be purchased through Cheekwood’s website. The event is presented by Bank of America, sponsored by Andrews Transportation Group, and Your Williamson as the media sponsor.
