Convicted Felon Arrested After Domestic Shooting in Nashville

Diontae Thompson, a convicted felon, was arrested on 11 warrants following a domestic shooting.

Specialized Investigations detectives arrested convicted felon Diontae Thompson, 34, on 11 warrants following a domestic-related shooting last Monday on 14th Avenue North in Nashville that injured his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend. Thompson, who was out on probation, is accused of pushing his way into the apartment and shooting the male victim in the foot. After being shot, the victim reported he and Thompson fought over the gun. During the altercation, the victim was pistol whipped after Thompson pointed the gun at his head and the gun malfunctioned. Thompson left the scene before officers arrived.

North Precinct detectives quickly swore out several warrants against Thompson, including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and especially aggravated burglary. Detectives located Thompson this afternoon in the passenger seat of a Nissan Maxima during a traffic stop on Candlewood Drive. A handgun was recovered from the vehicle. Thompson was booked on his ten outstanding warrants and additionally charged with being a felon in possession of a handgun.

Police Investigate Fatal Apartment Complex Shooting

A 37-year-old man was fatally shot outside a Nashville apartment complex on Friday night as he was leaving for work.
