Cheekwood Estate & Gardens Hosts Dog-Friendly Weekend Event

Cheekwood Estate & Gardens invites dogs and their families to celebrate spring during "Dogs and Dogwoods" weekend.

Dogs and Dogwoods, a dog-friendly weekend event, will be held at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens in Nashville, Tennessee, on April 20-21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guests are invited to bring their leashed dogs for a stroll through the scenic gardens and admire the Nationally Accredited Cornus Collection™, which features 238 trees, including 14 species and 7 hybrids.

The event will offer food trucks, local dog-focused vendors, musical performances, and plenty of activities for both dogs and their humans. Water refill and doggie bag stations will be provided, but visitors are asked to bring their own bowls to ensure their dogs stay hydrated. Canine companions are not allowed inside any buildings, including the Historic Mansion and Museum.

Visitors can enjoy delicious fare from various local food trucks and shop for dog-themed accessories at vendors set up in the Beer Garden and Lot B from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days. Musical performances by the Charles Treadway Organ Trio and legendary drummer Chester Thompson will take place in the Beer Garden on April 20 and 21, respectively, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Ticket prices for non-members range from $15 to $28, depending on age and access to the Gardens and Mansion. The event is free for members and children two years old and younger, but tickets need to be reserved at cheekwood.org. Kids can enjoy hands-on activities, Storytime, and Turtle Talks in the Bracken Foundation Children’s Garden from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday.
