Adventure Science Center has a full docket of activities and events for everyone this spring. From extraordinary planetarium shows in the award-winning Sudekum Planetarium to free, outdoor programming, the science center is excited to provide unforgettable experiences for all ages!
Monday, April 8 | 9:00 am – 3:00 pm | Included in General Admission
Nashville is not in the path of totality for this eclipse, but we will have 95% totality at the eclipse’s peak and a variety of educational activities happening throughout the science center. Weather-permitting, a number of outdoor opportunities will be provided as well, including an opportunity to see the Appalachian State solar car and make solar art with UV-activated paper.
Certified eclipse glasses are essential for viewing and will be included at no additional with the purchase of general admission tickets for the day.
Eclipse: The Sun Revealed, an original production from the Sudekum Planetarium team, will be playing throughout the day. This show will inform visitors how to safely view an eclipse, why they happen, and how the study of eclipses has advanced science.

“Quieter Hour” from 9:00 am – 10:00 am
Medical vehicles, construction equipment, and firetrucks will be parked at Adventure Science Center for families to see and touch. Visitors will also have the opportunity to speak with the operators and learn about their careers.
This is a loud event, so sensory-sensitive friends are encouraged to visit during “quieter hour” while horns and sirens will not be utilized. The Autism Clinic at Hope is also generously supplying 150 over-the-ear headphones for guests to borrow at the event, free of charge.

Adventure Science Center will be focused on all things green throughout the month of April, culminating in a week of extra special programming to celebrate Green Week. For instance, on Sunday, April 21, HCA Healthcare will be on site providing hands-on activities that teach guests about recycling, clean energy, and more.

Family Star Wars Day
Saturday, May 4 | 9:00 am – 3:00 pm | Included in General Admission
Families are invited to dive into the Star Wars universe while enjoying themed crafts, Live Science shows, cart activities, and more. *Costumes are encouraged!*

Wonders of the Universe Exhibit Redesign Opening
Saturday, June 1 | 9:00 am – 5:00 pm | Included in General Admission
This popular, second-floor gallery is being completely redesigned to feature a model of NASA’s Mars Curiosity rover within an immersive Mars diorama. A variety of interactive exhibits will teach visitors about the fascinating realm of planetary science.

Tennessee State Museum Opens Furniture Exhibit
