Teen Arrested for Murder of Security Guard in Nashville

A 19-year-old has been charged with the murder of a security guard.

Specialized Investigations Division detectives have apprehended Isaiah K. Moore, 19, on charges of criminal homicide following the fatal shooting of 33-year-old security guard Maurice Thomas Jr. The incident occurred early Sunday morning outside the Illuzion Bar and Lounge located at 2510 Murfreesboro Pike. Moore was arrested at a relative’s apartment on British Woods Drive.

The investigation revealed that Moore, along with two accomplices, was involved in breaking into cars in the parking lot when they were confronted by Thomas. During the ensuing confrontation, Thomas was shot multiple times. Security footage captured the suspects fleeing the scene in a maroon Chevrolet Cruz, which was later linked to Moore.

In connection with the incident, Moore faces additional charges, including three counts of vehicle burglary that took place in the same parking lot on the morning of the murder. Authorities are continuing efforts to identify and apprehend the remaining individuals involved in the crime.
