Search for Convicted Thief Tarice Smith Intensifies

Tarice Smith is wanted on 44 charges, including identity theft and burglary.

West Precinct detectives are urging the Nashville community to remain vigilant and report any sightings of Tarice Lamont Smith, 49, a convicted thief and burglar. Smith is currently the subject of 44 arrest warrants, which include charges for 18 counts of identity theft, 18 counts of credit card fraud, 4 counts of burglary, and 4 counts of theft.

Smith is accused of infiltrating non-public areas of various businesses, such as employee breakrooms, to steal wallets and credit cards from the purses of female employees. These thefts have enabled him to embark on shopping sprees, purchasing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise.

Earlier this month, Smith was arrested and faced charges for 4 counts of credit card fraud, 1 count of burglary, and 1 count of theft. He was later released after posting a $10,000 bond.

The Nashville Police Department is requesting anyone with information on Tarice Smith’s whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Crime Stoppers allows callers to remain anonymous and even offers a cash reward for information leading to an arrest.

The police have released images of Smith and are distributing them widely in hopes that members of the public can assist in his capture. His actions not only violate the trust of Nashville’s business community but also pose a significant threat to the financial security of individuals. The Nashville Police Department is committed to bringing Smith to justice and ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
