Repairs and Paving Underway on I-40 in Benton County

TDOT is performing repairs and paving on I-40 in Benton County.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced that crews are currently undertaking repair works on Interstate 40 in Benton County, Tennessee. With the arrival of warmer weather, hot mix asphalt has become available, enabling the department to address and repair specific sections of the interstate near the Tennessee River.

TDOT has been conducting alternating lane closures between mile markers 126 and 133 on both east and westbound lanes for milling operations. These activities are part of a larger effort to improve the condition of I-40 in this area. Following the milling, crews are set to begin paving the prepared spots today and tomorrow.

This stretch of I-40 is also slated for a comprehensive resurfacing later this summer, underlining TDOT’s commitment to maintaining and enhancing the state’s highway infrastructure.
