Nashville Symphony Unveils Diverse 2024/25 Season Lineup

The Nashville Symphony announces an eclectic 2024/25 season featuring over 100 performances.

NASHVILLE, TN—The Nashville Symphony has officially announced its 2024/25 season, promising a spectacular lineup of over 100 performances that span a wide range of genres and styles. Music Director Giancarlo Guerrero is set to conduct eight of the fifteen Classical Series programs, highlighting both seminal works and pieces by underrepresented composers.

The Classical Series will showcase the virtuosity of the Nashville Symphony’s musicians through iconic compositions such as Igor Stravinsky’s The Firebird and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, among others. Additionally, the season will feature works by contemporary composers, including Carlos Simon and Mary Lou Williams, emphasizing the orchestra’s commitment to diversity in music.

Music Director Giancarlo Guerrero expressed immense pride in the orchestra’s growth and evolution during his tenure. He highlighted the upcoming season’s blend of classical masterpieces and American music, promising an unforgettable musical experience for Nashville’s audiences.

The season will also welcome a roster of renowned guest artists, including violinist Gil Shaham, pianist Emanuel Ax, and saxophonist Branford Marsalis, each bringing their unique talents to the Schermerhorn Symphony Center stage. Highlights include Joyce Yang’s performance of Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini and Ray Chen’s rendition of Sibelius’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra.

In addition to the Classical Series, the Nashville Symphony’s season features a Pops Series led by Principal Pops Conductor Enrico Lopez-Yañez, a Jazz Series showcasing artists like Herbie Hancock, and the family-friendly Ann & Monroe Carell Family Trust Family Series. The Amazon Movie Series returns with full-length classic and hit movies accompanied live by the orchestra, while the Artist Spotlight Series presents intimate concerts and solo recitals by world-class guest artists.

The 2024/25 season also marks Giancarlo Guerrero’s final year as Music Director, concluding a transformative 14-year tenure that has seen the Nashville Symphony achieve significant artistic milestones, including 24 premieres, 21 commercial recordings, and 11 GRAMMY® Awards.
