A five-month investigation led by Youth Services Division Detective Rachael Robinson culminated in the arrest of an East Nashville couple on Thursday night. Angel Slattery, 38, and Michael Slattery, 24, were arrested following indictments by a grand jury on several counts of child rape. The couple is accused of sexually assaulting a child, who was 7 years old at the onset of the abuse, over a period of five years.
The victim reported that both Angel and Michael Slattery, who had custody of him for some time, committed the assaults together and individually. The detailed investigation by Detective Robinson brought these allegations to light, leading to the couple’s arrest on Dickerson Pike.
Angel and Michael Slattery now face charges including five counts of rape of a child, continuous sexual abuse of a child, displaying sex acts to a minor, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The arrests highlight the serious nature of the charges and the ongoing commitment of law enforcement to protect vulnerable members of the community.
The Nashville Police Department has not released further details regarding the case at this time.
