The City of Knoxville is set to welcome job seekers and those exploring new career opportunities at its upcoming Job Fair and Career Expo. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Public Works Service Center, located at 3131 Morris Avenue.

This job fair aims to showcase the wide range of career opportunities available within various City departments, including Public Service, Fleet Services, Engineering, Parks and Recreation, Knoxville Police Department, Knoxville Fire Department, Human Resources, Finance, Civil Service, Information Systems, Employee Benefits/Risk Management, Pension, among others.

The open-house style expo will allow attendees to directly apply for jobs on-site and engage with staff members to ask questions and gain insights into the application process. Additionally, the event will provide valuable information regarding health, savings, and pension benefits offered by the City.

To make the expo more engaging and informative, multiple vehicles and pieces of equipment utilized by City departments will be displayed outside the venue. This setup intends to offer guests of all ages a closer look at the tools and resources city employees work with.

Knoxville Unveils Free Events for Spring and Summer 2024

The City of Knoxville has announced a lineup of free, family-friendly events for the spring and summer of 2024, aimed at providing residents with enjoyable outdoor activities. The series, organized by the City’s Office of Special Events along with various City departments and community organizations, includes the “Concerts on the Square” series and the “Kid A’Riffic Fun in the Park” events. The “Concerts on the Square” series, sponsored by Comcast and in partnership with local entities like the Downtown Knoxville Alliance and the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra, features “Jazz Tuesdays” with performances by local jazz musicians such as Taber Gable and Greg Tardy, and “Variety Thursdays” offering a wide range of musical acts.
