Country music sensation Eric Church has taken fan engagement to a new level with the opening of Chief’s, his innovative bar, restaurant, and live music venue located in the heart of downtown Nashville. Known for his unique approach to music and fan interaction, Church’s latest venture offers not just a space for live performances and dining but also a sense of ownership to his fans, affectionately known as the Choir.
Chief’s, which is set to become a new landmark at the intersection of 2nd Avenue North and Broadway, aims to celebrate Church’s illustrious music career while providing a gathering place for fans and music lovers. The venue’s design is a testament to Church’s personal journey and musical achievements, featuring interiors inspired by various chapters of his life and more than 4,000 concert posters from his career.
In a move that echoes the surprise release of his 2015 album “Mr. Misunderstood,” Church has offered his fans a unique opportunity to own a piece of Chief’s through a dedication of individual bricks in the building. Fans who participated in the online campaign received digital deeds to their bricks, along with a series of digital collectibles that grant access to exclusive content, unreleased materials, and first dibs on entry to the venue.
Moreover, these digital collectibles include perks like “Vinyl for Life,” which entitles fans to first edition vinyls of Church’s entire catalog and future releases. Other notable giveaways tied to these collectibles include a signed guitar with lessons from Church’s guitarist, Driver Williams, and opportunities to record guest DJ sets at Chief’s studio as part of the Outsiders Radio “Insiders Hour.”
Reflecting on the initiative, Church shared, “You’ve helped me build my career brick by brick, and I want the whole world to know that the building is yours. This is our house.” He emphasized that Chief’s transcends the concept of just another downtown club, embodying a shared space for stories, music, and community.
Chief’s also partners with James Beard Award-winning Pitmaster Rodney Scott to bring a taste of Carolina with his Whole Hog BBQ at the venue’s rooftop, dubbed ‘Hell of a Q.’ The establishment will feature a ticketed music venue and additional live entertainment across its six stories, along with a studio for live broadcasting, inclusive of Church’s Outsiders Radio on SiriusXM.
As construction continues under the guidance of real estate developer and hospitality entrepreneur Ben Weprin of AJ Capital, anticipation builds for Chief’s opening. The venue promises to offer an unparalleled entertainment experience in Nashville, cementing Church’s legacy in Music City while forging new connections with his fans.
